Perhaps my anxiety (see my October 11th post) was due to the 1 month anniversary of the Sept. 11th events.
On October 11th, I went to the Authentic Cafe with a few friends. It was an opportunity to support the Windows of Hope organization which donated a minimum of 10% of the October 11th profits to the Windows of Hope Relief Fund. The fund provided aid to the families of victims of the World Trade Center tragedy who worked in the foodservice profession throughout the Windows on the World complex. I felt it was my duty as an American citizen to do whatever I could to provide some kind of relief to the victims of September 11th. It seemed too simple of a task to go out to eat, knowing that families of the Windows on the World employees would benefit. But at the same time, what a great way to support our fellow Americans.
As I think about everything that's going on in the world and everything that is going on at my workplace and personal life...I feel like there just isn't enough time in the day for just about anything. It takes every ounce of my being to remain sane as I leave work, and the weekends aren't long enough to get my errands done and visit with family and friends...something has to suffer and lately it seems my apartment is the victim. Those of you who have been to my place recently, my sincerest apologies for the family of dust bunnies that have overtaken my apartment. I am lost. I am tired. I need a vacation. Too bad we couldn't hibernate like bears...that would be a perfect scenario for me.
